Conference Update
The 2019 Dominion Leasing Software User Conference was held May 19-21, 2019, at the picturesque Virginia Crossings, a Tapestry Collection Hotel by Hilton, in Richmond, Virginia.
Venue: The 2019 Dominion Leasing Software User Conference was held at the beautiful Virginia Crossings Hotel in Glen Allen (suburban Richmond), Virginia. Attendees found a venue perfectly situated for peacefulness and relaxation in a retreat-like setting with an extensive 20-acre green space. Known for hosting unforgettable meetings with best-of-class conference rooms and state-of-the-art technology, the hotel also offered attendees opportunities for golfing across the way at The Crossings Golf Club or to visit downtown Richmond and explore the sights. Accommodations featured southern charm and fantastic views overlooking the courtyards, gardens, or the greens of The Crossings golf course. A perfect setting for this year’s User Conference!
Conference: The 2019 User Conference was kicked off during a Sunday evening reception in the Henrico room, featuring cocktails, hour d’oeuvres, and reconnecting. Just steps away from the hotel lobby and overlooking the hotel grounds, this event was both convenient for attendees just arriving and picturesque.
Conference sessions began on Monday morning and featured a full day of both education and informative sessions, including sneak peaks and upcoming LeaseComplete Customer Portal and newly available DecisionComplete products. This year’s main conference track was primarily focused on the new and improved functionality available in the recently released LeaseComplete Version 5. Highlighted features included new funding module enhancements, queuing and workflow, a “wizards” overview, using checklists, mass imports/exports, and restructuring debt, to name a few. There was even sessions on upgrading to Version 5 which included a step-by-step walkthrough of the process. In all, sixteen unique topics were presented during the day and half conference!
Entertainment: The famous (or infamous) Monday evening event was held in the Hanover ballroom. The evening began with cocktails and review of the day’s topics. At 7pm the doors opened to the ballroom to reveal a casino-style nightclub, with DJ, photo booth, and a lighted dancefloor! At 7:30pm, dinner was served to all attendees and guests, where great conversation and a little “seat-dancing” was noticed. After dinner, it was time to let loose on the dancefloor and everyone did just that! All-in-all, it was a wonder time to unwind and get to know each other a little better!

Conference Update
It was our distinct pleasure to host the 2017 Dominion Leasing Software User Conference, held May 7-9, 2017, at the Williamsburg Lodge in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Venue: The Williamsburg Lodge is a relaxing hotel escape in the heart of the Revolutionary City. The lodge is just steps from the Colonial Williamsburg Historic District, which has the distinction of being the only living museum of Colonial American History. Attendees enjoyed colonial shops, activities, tradespeople, and eateries, each staffed by actors clad in period costumes and rich in colonial custom. The lodge itself bridges the gap between historic appeal and modern comforts, boasting a world-class restaurant and recreation including a relaxing full-service spa and local golf courses.
Conference: The 2017 User Conference was kicked off during a Sunday evening reception, featuring cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Overlooking the hotel grounds, this event was a wonderful opportunity to greet new attendees and reconnect with old friends. Joining us this evening was none other than Thomas Jefferson himself, who spoke to attendees about life during this time in Williamsburg (then the Capital of Virginia). After entertaining all questions presented by those in attendance, Mr. Jefferson stayed for one-on-one conversations and even posed with attendees for pictures before departing back to the Governor’s Mansion for the evening.
Conference sessions begin Monday morning and featured a full day of both education and informative sessions. A variety of speakers presented topics ranging from basic system features to the move advanced. The key new features of the recently released Version 4.19 were highlighted Of particular interest were those showcasing the upcoming LeaseComplete Version 5 release. Attendees were treated to an in-depth review of many of the new features Version 5 will offer and culminated with a session covering the upgrade process.
Entertainment: Monday’s entertainment is always a much-anticipated part of the Dominion User Conference, and this year’s entertainment proved to be exceptional. Following a brief cocktail meet-and-greet at the Tea and Barley, we were entertained by a fife and drum corps who lead the entire group through the historic area and on to the Kings Arms Tavern for dinner. Dinner at Kings Arms featured colonial cuisine and drink, served by wait staff in period attire. Entertainment for evening included story tellers and balladeers who wove tall tales of colonial heroes with songs played on period instruments. Following dinner, all enjoyed an evening to peruse the local shops and enjoy the after-dark entertainment in the Colonial District.

The 2015 Dominion Leasing Software User Conference was held November 8-10, 2015, at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. With its unparalleled range of accommodations, stunning setting along the James River, and boundless range of recreational activities and leisure pursuits right on the grounds, the Kingsmill resort is a relaxing, fun, and memorable riverside escape. Kingsmill is also a place steeped in honored traditions and genuine Southern hospitality. When the first English foot was placed in Virginia, it was on these grounds that once served as a central part of the area’s plantation life in the 1600s through 1800s. Today, Kingsmill Resort is known for its scenic beauty and challenging golf courses. The River Course has hosted the world’s best golf players from both the PGA and LPGA, and is currently the home of the LPGA Championship. It was in this beautiful setting, surrounded by golf courses and the stunning James River, that conference attendees and Dominion Leasing Software staff came together for our annual gathering of education and fellowship.
The 2015 User Conference was kicked off by a Sunday evening reception, featuring cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres, including a number of pasta dishes and two carving stations. During this event, attendees began reconnecting and networking with each other and the Dominion Staff. Attendees of this event were rewarded with a drawing featuring prizes from the “Back to the Future” movie series.
Conference sessions began on Monday morning and included a full day and a half of both training and overview content, concluding around noon on Tuesday. This year’s Conference featured two tracts from which attendees could choose, one highlighting features in the recently released LeaseComplete Version 4.18, and the other introducing the new features in LeaseComplete Version 5. Many attendees chose to mix-and-match sessions between the two systems, which provided just the right mix of current and future for their taste. The Version 5 Introduction session gave an end-to-end overview of the powerful new features being rolled out in this next generation release of the LeaseComplete system; while other Version 5 sessions dove deeper into specific areas including reporting, booking, payment processing, and integration. The upgrade planning session provided an insight into the process of migrating from LeaseComplete Version 4 to Version 5. The Version 4.18 sessions focused on expanding attendees’ knowledge of the system they currently use. The “New Features” session focused on the one-hundred plus new features rolled out in the 2015 update release of the System. An overview of Quoting and Prospect Tracking shed light on this powerful system feature, introducing new ways it could be incorporated into existing lease/loan workflows. The User Conference also offered a 4-hour introduction to writing reports for LeaseComplete using Crystal Reports, empowering our clients to maximize the potential of the system to meet customized reporting needs in their organizations.
It is the Dominion User Conference that makes Monday nights famous, and this year’s conference was no exception! The evening’s entertainment kicked off with a cocktail hour, followed by a delicious dinner which included beef tenderloin, potatoes, fresh vegetables, and a chocolate cheesecake desert. After dinner, the event was cranked up by a DJ featuring a light show and some dancing. The entertainment featured a “casino night” complete with tables for blackjack, roulette, and craps. To keep things interesting, raffles were done throughout the night with a variety of prizes presented to each winner. Keepsakes were provided courtesy of the Dominion Photo Booth. With smiles all around, it is safe to assume a great time was had by all attendees!

Conference Update
The 2014 Dominion Leasing Software User Conference was held May 18-20, 2014, at the Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center. Known for its Southern charm, modern amenities, and gracious service, the Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center is situated on over 20 beautiful acres. The beautifully manicured lawns and gardens which surround the hotel helped set the tone for a wonderful conference experience. It was in this pristine setting that conference attendees and Dominion Leasing Software staff came together for our annual gathering of education and fellowship.
The 2014 User Conference was kicked off by a Sunday evening reception, featuring a cocktail hour followed by dinner on the hotel patio. Overlooking the pool deck and with the surrounding golf course in the background, it was a perfect evening to greet new attendees and reconnect with old friends. Entertainment for the evening was provided by local magician and entertainer Jonathan Austin, who dazzled the group with his slight-of-hand and off-beat humor. Mr. Austin has performed at a variety of venues and occasions including Presidential Inaugurations, the Kennedy Center, and Walt Disney World; and can now add the Dominion Leasing Software User Conference to his very impressive resume!
Sessions began Monday morning and featured a full day of both educational and informative sessions. A variety of speakers presented topics ranging from reporting features and wizards, to more complex topics including contract rewrites and depreciation settings. A Version 4.17 recap session provided attendees with a snapshot of the over 100 updates made available in the 2014 System release. The upcoming LeaseComplete Version 5 release was front-and-center with sessions including a complete overview of the system, technical sessions related to the upgrade process for existing clients, and a Q&A session in which attendees were able to get their specific questions answered by the Dominion Development Team. The conference sessions ended with a peak into the Dominion “crystal ball” at future enhancements currently in the development pipeline.
Of course, the 2014 User Conference simply wouldn’t be complete without our famous Monday evening celebration! The cocktail hour provided an opportunity for attendees to reflect on the day’s events as they unwound and prepared for what was to come. After a delicious dinner which included seared beef tenderloin, roasted chicken, and fresh vegetables, it was time for the entertainment to begin! First up was an “Elaine Benes (of Seinfeld) Dance-off”, where volunteers did their best impression of Elaine’s famous dance moves. After crowning a champion dancer, the DJ continued with a variety of other “contests”; while some attendees chose to entertain themselves with the props and costumes available at the Dominion Photo Booth. It is fair to say that a good time was had by all.

The 2013 Dominion Leasing Software User Conference was held April 21 – 23, 2013, at The Jefferson Hotel in downtown Richmond, Virginia. Built in 1895, The Jefferson Hotel is truly amazing both in terms of ambiance and architecture. It is one of only a handful of hotels in North America to earn both Mobil’s Five Star Award and AAA’s Five Diamond rating. This setting provided a great experience for the conference attendees and the Dominion Leasing Software staff to attend the various break-out sessions as well as network and share valuable experiences.
The 2013 User Conference format was expanded over previous years to provide sixteen breakout sessions covering a variety of topics in both training and overview classes. This gave attendees the chance to learn about existing and new system features in a greater level of detail, while still providing summary offerings to those who prefer that format. The User Conference featured a wide variety of speakers and topics, all offered in a classroom style setting, ensuring there was something for everyone in attendance. In addition, we were pleased to be joined by representatives from Ivory Consulting Corporation who provided a brief demonstration of their Portfolio Analytics product, which is now integrated with LeaseComplete.
This year our focus shifted a bit more to our upcoming LeaseComplete Version 5 release. Attendees were able to learn more about this complete redesign of LeaseComplete, including the look and feel, as well as new enhancements being developed. One session focused on the upgrade process and included a live demonstration of an upgrade from LeaseComplete Version 4 to Version 5, which demonstrated the portability of user customizations to the new system.
With all this work going on, you would think there was no time for fun – but you would be wrong! Upon arrival Sunday evening, attendees were treated to a social featuring cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and lots of good conversation! It was our pleasure to greet both old and new friends, and to catch up on family and relations in such a casual environment. Monday evening featured another of our now famous User Conference celebrations! After a brief cocktail hour and a mouthwatering dinner, we were entertained by attendees demonstrating dances ranging from disco to “Gangnam Style”! To continue the educational theme of the conference, we hosted a hilarious “Dominion Game Show” where attendees competed for prizes by answering LeaseComplete-related questions. Throughout the evening our DJ played some amazing music, and attendees danced or amused themselves with the Dominion Photo Booth and supplied props. It was truly an incredible evening, and just what everyone needed to unwind after the long day!

Conference Update
It was our pleasure to host the second annual Dominion Leasing Software User Conference “Future In Sight”, held May 6 through 8, 2012, at the Founders Inn and Spa in beautiful Virginia Beach, Virginia!
The 2012 User Conference provided a great experience for the conference attendees and the Dominion Leasing Software staff. The various breakout sessions and free periods provided a perfect opportunity for attendees to network and share valuable experiences. The many breakout sessions covered a variety of topics and gave attendees the chance to learn about existing and new system features in both overview and training-style classroom settings. There was plenty of time for fun as well, including a Sunday evening reception and our now “famous” Monday evening dinner and party. During this year’s conference we hosted a “casino night” that featured a number of casino-style games as well as a DJ who not only played some awesome music but also involved each attendee in the entertainment!
The focus of this year’s User Conference was “Future In Sight” and began with an overview of the upcoming LeaseComplete Version 5 system release. During the conference attendees were able to see a full demonstration of LeaseComplete Version 5 as well as experience an upgrade from Version 4 to Version 5, which was accomplished in a matter of minutes using tools Dominion developed for that purpose. A timeline for completion of Version 5 was presented to the users and BETA testing was discussed – a number of our clients have volunteered to perform BETA testing which will play a pivotal role in the successful launch of this new system release.
In addition to Version 5, there were many breakout sessions which focused on educational topics requested by our customers. Those included classes on Screen Painting, Time Saving Essentials, and others. We also included accounting sessions including a detailed overview of book and tax depreciation. A guest speaker from OSG talked to attendees about sales and property tax compliance, and provided a list of twelve (12) items they can do now to streamline their processes, reduce tax liability, and ensure compliance.

It was our pleasure to host the first annual Dominion Leasing Software User Conference, which was held April 10 – 12, 2011, in beautiful, historic Williamsburg, Virginia!
The 2011 User Conference proved to be a great experience for the conference attendees and the Dominion Leasing Software staff. The various breakout sessions and the free periods provided a perfect oppurtunity for the attendees to network, and share valuable experiences. The sessions gave the attendees the chance to learn best practices first hand, and to interact with Dominion Leasing Software staff in both educational and social settings.
The focus of this year’s User Conference was ‘gaining momentum’ by utilizing the system’s functionality to bring added value to our clients and their customers. To that end we worked diligently to provide session topics of both educational and informational significance which were of interest to the attendees.
As we continue our development of Version 5 of LeaseComplete, our innovative Version utilizing the very latest in Microsoft technology, the client conference feedback we received reinforced our direction to continue development of new and improved functionality as well as facilitating improved approaches to system implementation and client support. The many clients who plan to be Beta participants will play a pivotal role in its success.
